LGBTQ+ Workshop Series: WORKSHOP TITLE: QUEER REPRODUCTION: A PERSONAL AND HISTORIC LOOK
This event requires registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/queer-reproduction-a-personal-and-historic-look-tickets-153560083343
Author and teacher Jennifer Berney will look at queer approaches to building families, past and present. She will discuss the community DIY approach to conceiving children which has roots in queer communities in the 1980s and 90s when lesbians often teamed up with straight allies and gay men to conceive children on their own terms. Jennifer will contrast this to the clinical approach, which often requires queer people to interact with industries and models designed to serve straight people. As a group, we will explore our visions and dreams for what family can mean to us.
