IGNITE & BLACK SCHOLARS MONTHLY CAMPUS FORUM Online

The IGNITE Program and the Black Scholars Program both serve as equity initiatives by providing financial assistance, academic and emotional support to first generation college students, low income students of color, students with a disability, and a focus on black students. Both programs has lived up to its promise by increasing their retention and completion rates. Furthermore, students from both programs have built community and have experienced belongingness at our institution.

In an effort to continue learning from both cohorts, the A. Barbara Clarkson Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Center will be hosting our monthly forum on Friday, May 7th from 12:00pm-1:30pm.

The goals of these forums are to:

·       Provide an opportunity for black scholars/Ignite students, faculty and staff to see and interact with each other outside of the classroom.

·       Provide an opportunity for faculty and staff to inquire and directly hear from black scholars/ ignite students about their experiences on campus.

·       Inform reform and strategies to better support black scholars/ignite students and students with similar experiences.

We invite you all to participate in these forums.

This forum will take place on May 7th from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
